A new evening destination has opened in Lamai, giving visitors another place to eat, shop and spend a few hours after dark.
VIA Village is an open-air market and entertainment space in northern Lamai, bringing together small shops, food outlets, drinks, games and nightly entertainment in a compact village-style setting.
Rather than being a conventional shopping centre, VIA Village is made up of individual small businesses arranged along pedestrian walkways, with lighting and landscaping giving parts of the development a slightly boutique feel. There’s also a central seating and entertainment area where visitors can relax and watch the evening’s activities.
The mix includes food and drink outlets, fashion and lifestyle shops, games and family-oriented entertainment. Businesses seen at the market include Dragon Wok and Dick’s Burgers, while other spaces include lifestyle businesses such as Lulu Pilates.
It’s also the entertainment programme that helps set VIA Village apart from a traditional market.
Evening entertainment at VIA Village
Entertainment is scheduled throughout the evening, with a small daily circus performance followed by live music and DJs.
Daily schedule:
- 6:00pm–7:00pm: Circus show
- 7:00pm–9:00pm: Live music
- 9:00pm–10:30pm: DJ
The central area provides seating around the entertainment space, making it possible to combine dinner or drinks with the evening programme rather than simply browsing the shops.
VIA Village is not particularly large, and it’s best thought of as a compact evening market and entertainment venue rather than a major shopping destination. Its more relaxed atmosphere and range of family-friendly activities may appeal to visitors looking for something different from Lamai’s main nightlife areas.
The market is located not far from Lamai Night Market, and is at 169/32 Moo 4, Maret, and currently open daily from 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
